Noida, India, 5th August 2024: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), representing the entire fraternity of art and culture in India, extends its heartiest congratulations to H.E. Dr. Désiré Boniface Somé, Ambassador of Burkina Faso to India, and the people of Burkina Faso on the occasion of their Independence Day. Celebrated on 5th August, this day marks a significant milestone in the history of Burkina Faso, symbolizing the nation’s journey towards freedom and sovereignty.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, expressed his best wishes, stating, “India and Burkina Faso share a strong and growing relationship, rooted in mutual respect and collaboration. On this auspicious day, we celebrate not only the independence of Burkina Faso but also the bond of friendship between our two nations.”
The Indo-Burkina Faso Film and Cultural Forum, a platform aimed at strengthening cultural ties and artistic collaboration between the two countries, holds immense potential for fostering deeper connections. Dr. Marwah emphasized the need to elevate the forum to a larger scale, saying, “While the forum has laid the foundation for cultural exchanges, there is much more to be done. We are committed to promoting this initiative further, ensuring that the rich cultural heritage of both India and Burkina Faso is highlighted on the global stage.”
In addition to cultural initiatives, ICMEI also recognizes the importance of diplomatic engagements. The recent visit of key officers from Burkina Faso to India, initiated by ICMEI, was a significant step toward enhancing bilateral relations. However, Dr. Marwah noted that this visit has yet to receive the attention it deserves. “The visit of Burkina Faso’s officers marked an important chapter in our growing ties. It is essential that we highlight and build upon these interactions to further strengthen our relationship.”
