Florence, Italy – May 2025 – In yet another impactful stride toward fostering global academic and artistic collaboration, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of AAFT School of Fine Arts and a globally recognized media educator and cultural ambassador, recently visited Florence, Italy, on a research assignment under the prestigious International Film and Television Research Centre (IFTRC).
Florence, long regarded as the cradle of the Renaissance and one of the most influential centers of European art and culture, served as an inspiring backdrop for Dr. Marwah’s academic journey. His visit aimed at exploring the historical and contemporary art landscape of Italy, with a focus on integrating these global art practices into the AAFT School of Fine Arts curriculum.
“Florence is not just a city—it is a living museum of creativity, aesthetics, and innovation,” said Dr. Marwah. “The experience of walking through the Uffizi Gallery, admiring Michelangelo’s David, and witnessing Italian craftsmanship in action offers powerful lessons for our students. This visit allows us to bring the essence of Renaissance art, techniques, and philosophy into our modern-day fine arts education.”
As part of his research work, Dr. Marwah studied the influence of classical art on modern visual storytelling, the role of architecture in fine arts training, and the integration of art history with digital and contemporary mediums. These insights channelled into new academic modules, collaborative projects, and international workshops at AAFT. Further solidifying its position as a leading global institution in creative education.
Dr. Marwah’s visit also supports the mission of the International Film and Television Research Centre, which promotes interdisciplinary research across the domains of art, cinema, design, and media. By bridging historical context with modern-day innovation, the IFTRC aims to inspire cross-cultural understanding and artistic excellence.
This initiative also aligns with Dr. Marwah’s broader vision through Marwah Studios and ICMEI to internationalize Indian education in arts and media, ensuring students benefit from global exposure and world-class learning experiences.
