
New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Indo–Seychelles Film and Cultural Forum, attended the grand celebrations marking the 50th National Day of the Republic of Seychelles at Hotel Hyatt, New Delhi.
The prestigious gathering brought together diplomats, government representatives, members of the diplomatic corps, cultural personalities, media professionals, and distinguished guests to celebrate the national day of Seychelles and the strong and friendly relations between Seychelles and India.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah had the privilege of joining H.E. Harisoa Lalatiana Accouche, High Commissioner of Seychelles to India, and Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Minister of State for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, on the occasion.
Speaking to the press, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair, Indo–Seychelles Film and Cultural Forum, said, “It is a great honour and privilege to be part of the 50th National Day celebrations of the Republic of Seychelles. India and Seychelles share warm, historic, and people-to-people relations. As Chair of the Indo–Seychelles Film and Cultural Forum, I am committed to further strengthening these bonds through cinema, media, art, culture, education, and tourism.”
Dr. Marwah further said that film and cultural exchanges can play a significant role in bringing the people of the two nations closer. “Cinema is a universal language that connects hearts and cultures. Through the Indo–Seychelles Film and Cultural Forum, we will continue to create opportunities for filmmakers, artists, students, media professionals, and cultural institutions of both countries to interact and collaborate,” he added.
The celebrations provided an important platform to reaffirm the longstanding friendship between India and Seychelles and to explore new avenues of cooperation in the fields of culture, creative industries, education, tourism, film, and media.
The Indo–Seychelles Film and Cultural Forum, under the aegis of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), continues to work towards promoting greater cultural understanding, creative collaboration, and people-to-people connections between the two countries.
